PARKING in Scarborough town canter ranges from metered on-street
parking to free disc parking.
Free disc parking is
available in the majority of streets just outside the centre of
Scarborough, ranging from a one and three hour maximum, depending
on the area.
Disc clocks are available
from Tourist Information Centres, council offices and dozens of
shops, garages, offices and public buildings in the area.
The parking scheme introduced
in June 2000, welcomed a daily park-and-ride service from Weaponness
Valley Road car park.
Parking here is free and buses run every 10 minutes into the town
centre and the sea front.
There
are plenty of pay and display car parks in and around the town centre
that visitors can use.
If you are visiting
Scarborough for a holiday and staying in a hotel, speak to the hotel
or guest house owner as unrestricted parking for hotel guests is
allowed outside the town centre.
They will provide you
with a scratchcard which allows up to seven days unrestricted parking.
Disabled badge holders are exempt from on-street parking controls
and charges and are unaffected by the time restrictions that apply
in disc zones.
They are not exempt
from payment of parking charges on the pay and display off-street
car parks. For parking inquries contact the parking services team
free on 0800 0568458.
