Peasholm Park, Scarborough, is one of the most popular attractions of
the town for all ages. Squirrels, ducks and wild birds inhabit the park,
making it a peaceful place to spend those lazy summer days. Rowing boats,
canoes and swan pedaloes can be hired out on the lake and around the island
with its waterfall, which is lit up in the evenings. Mini-naval warfare
always proves a popular choice and is enacted with remote controlled fireowrks.
Throughout the summer, music is played in the afternoons on a small bandstand
in the middle of the lake with the organist being taken there and back
by rowing boat. An 18-hole pitch and putt and a 12-hole putting green
are also available. Luna Park, Foreshore, Scarborough, is a small funfair
at the edge of the harbour of Scarborough’s Foreshore. It boasts a ferris
wheel and other attractions.
Surf/body boarding wetsuits and boards can be hired, by the hour or day,
from surf shops in the town.
